Grandpa Comes to Town

Henry's Grandpa came to town for a quick visit last weekend. He was only here for two nights, but did a good job of maximizing his time with his grandson...

During one of the rare times when his feet touched the ground, Henry plays with his blocks.

Lucky Number Seven

Henry turned seven months old last Friday, in what has to be the fastest seven-month period in recorded history.

How do you celebrate seven months of life on earth? By going to Meet the Rebels Day, of course. The title of this next picture is "like father like son."

Surprising how wide open Henry was in the endzone. The unanswered question is, is there a quarterback on campus who can get the ball to him? This question, and more, to be answered in about two weeks.

Okay. You may or may not know the three-year story of Jerrell Powe's eligibility and if you don't, I'm sure that you don't care. Suffice it to say, it has been a saga in the George Lucas sense of the word. But NCAA Clearinghouse/extortionists aside, he was a really nice guy and thought it was funny that anyone would be strange enough to want their son's picture taken with him. Amazing how much smaller Henry seemed in this guy's arms....

Vacay

Henry took a vacation to Chattanooga, TN and Asheville, NC last weekend. He did some sightseeing and got to spend a lot of time with his grandparents who met us in Asheville. These first two pictures are at a public fountain/waterfall along the Tennessee River in Chattanooga. He loved playing in the water and got soaking wet. Lucky for us, the 104ยบ temperatures dried him off fairly quickly.

Too bad for Henry that he slept through this meal at Aretha Frankensteins in Chattanooga. These are the Best. Pancakes. Ever. Great breakfast burritos too. Any place that provides such an ample supply of apple butter has to be good. If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend this place.

Grandma and Granpa watch Henry play with a new toy.

Henry doesn't really look much like Alexis or me to be perfectly honest. But there seems to be quite a resemblance here, however...

A Day in the Life

Here are a couple of recent pictures. Henry is slowly transitioning to formula, and he loves it. We really haven't found anything that he doesn't like yet--including avocado.

Sometimes Super likes to show off his super strength. This is a true push-up! Believe it or not, right before I took this shot he did Jack Palance-at-the-Oscars-style one-hander, but I wasn't quick enough to capture it. He's not quite crawling yet, but he gets closer and closer every day. These push-ups are his most recent maneuver in trying to get from Point A to Point B.

Too big to take a bath in the sink...this sink, anyway. We took this while waiting for his real bath to fill up.
