A Football Weekend Through the Eyes of a Three-Year-Old

Here's the story of our football weekend in Oxford through Claire's eyes, since this was the first time she's been to a game when she was old enough to know what was going on ("going on" in a wow-look-at-that! way, not in a why-is-the-safety-shading-over-to-the-wideout-in-that-formation? way).

Getting to our tailgate...

Very happy in her new chair

Hanging out on a cooler eating her weight in chips, cake, olives, cookies and fruit.  Not pictured (and not touched by Claire): protein.

Our tailgate crew!

Finally, the game...

There are lots of smiles when it's 31-0 in the second quarter.

It took a real scrubbing the next morning to wash game day off of both of them.

We hit Bottletree Bakery on Sunday morning, natch.  Yeah, that's Henry eating the filling out of his brioche with a spoon.

If I Ran the Zoo

We went to the zoo Sunday.  Many snacks were consumed.

They're like the lawn ornaments, only stinkier.

This was the first time Claire's seen an elephant since she was old enough to know what one is. She was impressed.

"Sock it to me."

Feeding the parakeets! (Alexis wanted to help them do this, but I insisted.)

Under the Sea

So here's a cool underwater picture of Claire taken this week at camp. Looks like we've been wasting money on goggles.

One of These Things Is Not Like the Others

It was not hard to spot Claire on her first day of camp.

Tooth Fairy!

Henry lost his first tooth the other day!  (He pulled it himself while eating a bowl of Rice Krispies.)

Here is what the Tooth Fairy left him...

Here is what he bought with that money the very same day...

FYI, it's a dig your own dinosaur bones kit (dinosaur bones not pictured).

So This Happened

About that road trip? Well, Claire took advantage of Alexis and Henry napping on the way home to show us what she would look like with full-body tats. Pretty sure the one on her right arm is the Chinese character for "tranquility."

Road Trip!

How excited was Claire to take a trip to visit Gran Gran?  Enough to pack two bags and dress up in beads and sunglasses (even though it was 8:00 at night and we weren't leaving until the next day).

Meanwhile, Henry packed his own suitcase too, while singing about the 50 states.  The contents of his bag: 4 books, approx. 6 stuffed animals, an American flag, pajamas, possibly a pair of shorts and a shirt, a bunch of Beyblades with ripcords, and as this video shows, his Beyblade stadium...
