Forward Rebels!

On an obvious campaign to wrap both his dad and Pop around his finger, Henry has spent the last four days walking around the house with this pen given to him by Pop on the day he was born. It plays the Ole Miss fight song to his endless delight. Sometimes he just listens but when he's really feeling it, he sings along like this...

Roll Over Beethoven

We don't know why, but Henry's new way to show happiness is to lie on his back and roll back and forth while laughing. This is probably an indication that he will not be skilled at poker. But if he's going to wear his emotions on his sleeve, unbridled joy is a good place to start.

Lazy Sunday

Okay, so the day didn't involve cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery or The Chronicles of Narnia, but we did spend a lazy Sunday in our backyard. Henry and Luigi played with (but usually, near) each other on the swing set...

...and then settled in for story time with Grandma.

Under the Sea

Henry's Grandma and Grandpa were in town last weekend along with Uncle Ryan and cousin Luigi. After a Friday night meal at Canton Cooks (not pictured, but for reference, see here), we spent Saturday afternoon at the Georgia Aquarium. Both Luigi and Henry were very impressed with the fish, sharks, penguins and otters.

This part of the aquarium was like an aquatic Chuck E. Cheese. Which for a 16-month old isn't a bad thing at all.

The last time Henry got this close to crustaceans, about 5000 crawfish lost their lives in a raging--and spicy--boil. These shrimp fared much better.

Man of All Seasons

What can I say? The kid loves balls. Footballs and baseballs so far and he knows the difference. In fact, he can spot a baseball game on TV whether they're showing the batter, the outfield, the pitcher or the stands. If there's a baseball game on TV, he points at the screen and says "bay-bawwwww?"

Matching shorts. Probabaly not a good thing.

Make It a Double

Henry returned to Mississippi during the last weekend of April to attend the Double Decker Festival. His cousins Jonathan and Ryan pushed him around for a while and later shared a big-as-yo-head ice cream sandwich with him.

He also got to catch up with his friend Sanders Mattox.

A trip to the Caribbean may be in our future if this video is any indication. He really liked the sounds of this steel drum and had to get his dance on...
